We get a lot of questions about technology. It can be complex or quite easy. Here are a few problem solving decisions we’ve made.
- We can’t afford the technology. It doesn’t have to be as expensive as the church-specialty sales quote. In fact unless you’ve got a techy person I’d stay away from those systems. They give you great features, but it can be a high learning curve and many churches don’t use most of the features they offer. You can do everything you need with a laptop with an HDMI port, an HDMI cable and a sound system.
- Our sanctuary is too bright for projection. That HDMI cable doesn’t have to be hooked to a projector. In our sanctuary, it connects to a large-screen smart TV which is then connected to the sound system. Just make sure the screen is appropriately sized for your worship space.
- We don’t have internet access. We heard this often during our grant / trial year. For that reason we did a bit of searching to find a web host that would allow users to download the video to their computer. It really is as simple as clicking on “download.”
